Alamos Malbec 2014
Province: MendozaAlamos Malbec 2014
Grapes: 90% Malbec, 6% Syrah, 4% Bonarda
Aging: 8 months in French and American Oak
This vintage offers a change of approach for Alamos, which used to put out lusty, sweet malbecs on an annual basis. By contrast, this one is lean and nicely acidic, with the sweeter fruit – plums and blackberries – coming only towards the finish. There’s a meatiness to the initial flavor accompanied by a touch of citrus; it’s more about food than drinking on its own.
