Province: MendozaGascon Malbec 2014
Grapes: 100% Malbec
Aging: 7 months with oak pieces
Quite beguiling at the start, with cinnamon and vanilla mixing easily in the nose while long legs stream down the glass, this malbec also offers lots to like in the mouth. There’s a core of red berries with hints of mocha around the edges, some underlying jammy sweetness, and a bit of heat in the finish. There’s obviously a bit more alcohol here than in most malbecs, but it’s a fun ride all in all.
