Province: MendozaGascon Reserva Malbec 2012
Grapes: 97% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot
Aging: 65% aged 15 months in French and American oak
Strong black raspberry aromas and thick legs hint at a concentrated wine for the mid-priced category, and they’re right. This malbec almost jumps out of the glass with direct flavor and a sound structure: traditional mocha notes at the bottom, dark berries and plums bursting through the middle, and a touch of acidic tang on top. Textbook malbec with an exceptionally clean finish.
