Province: MendozaTinto Negro Co-Ferment Malbec 2010

Grapes: 90% Malbec, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot

Aging: 12 months in French oak (30% new)

One of the spiciest and most exotic malbecs out there – and the cabernet franc and petit verdot have something to do with it, of course. The bouquet is full of curry and turmeric, which surprisingly carry over into the mouth as well, joined there by a lovely sweetness, plus cardamom and clove. A trip to India by way of Mendoza, and a remarkable demonstration of the enormous range of flavor wine can offer.
